This poster was made in June 2010, on the fifty-fifth day that thousands of barrels of oil and gas flowed into the Gulf. It was created with a feeling of utter helplessness, profound sadness and acute anger. To create the poster, antique Hernard® letters were individually glued to a recyclable substrate. Then, the substrate was doused with non-toxic, biodegradable oils and consumables. Of the 100 posters that were printed, 50 were mailed to the gulf state governors, senators, environmental leaders and policy makers with a note imploring their help to ensure that mining companies are held fully accountable for their actions and that regulations are put in place to protect our precious natural resources.
